Media Communications
Are you a storyteller? Do you have a passion for communicating and exploring how to effectively communicate across a variety of platforms including blogs, YouTube, podcasts, and social media? Through courses in photography, web design, videography, and strategic writing, you’ll be equipped with the skills and knowledge to be an effective communicator and take your storytelling to the next level, whether you wish to work for yourself or for an organization of any size.
The Media Communications diploma program is designed to meet industry demands within multi-faceted areas of the communications industry. You’ll graduate with a diverse range of marketable skills in photography, graphic design, web design, writing, social media, and videography.
Graduates of this program have the option to continue their studies in Cambrian’s one-year Public Relations Graduate Certificate program to earn an additional credential.

- Regular access to a computer with a reliable Internet connection

- Processor: Intel® 6th Gen – or AMD Ryzen™ 1000 Series or newer CPU (Intel® 7th Gen or AMD Ryzen™ 3000 Series CPU preferred)
- RAM: 8 GB minimum (16 GB RAM for HD media 32 GB for 4K media or higher preferred)
- GPU: 2 GB VRAM minimum (4 GB VRAM or higher preferred)
- Mac operating system
- macOS v10.14 or later
- Processor: Intel® 6th Gen or newer CPU
- RAM: 8 GB minimum (16 GB RAM for HD media 32 GB for 4K media or higher preferred)

- Storage space: 100 GB free with min 10 GB for software installs
- Software: Adobe Creative Cloud
Required software will be provided by Cambrian College. Instruction on how to obtain software will be provided to you. Some software that you may access as part of your program may not be compatible with every device. System requirements for Assistive Technology
To access the widest range of Assistive Technology (AT), a Windows-based computer is recommended.
- Recommended OS: Windows 10 or newer
- Recommended CPU: Intel or AMD multicore processor
- Recommended RAM: 8 GB
- Recommended Storage for Assistive Technology: 8 GB of available Hard Drive of Solid State Drive Space (please note this is not the total drive size and refers specifically to available space needed for assistive technology)
- Recommended Audio: Speakers or Headphones for Text-to-Speech and Microphone for Speech Input
While Apple computers can provide many AT options, some specialized software may not be available/compatible with this platform. Please consult with the Glenn Crombie Centre for further details.
