Student Housing Policy

Cambrian College is committed to providing access to affordable and safe housing options to support the well-being and success of students at the College.

This policy applies to applicants and students enrolled at Cambrian College.

1. The College believes that student housing is an important part of the student experience. To support this, the College will:
   1. Ensure that student housing information is easily accessible, helping students locate services, supports and resources.
   2. Offer a variety of housing options that align with the size and enrolment levels of Cambrian.
   3. Provide inclusive and accessible housing options that cater to our diverse student population.
   4. Consider the local community environment and context, fostering community partnerships where appropriate.
   5. Designate a Housing Officer to provide personal support, information and guidance to students.
   6. Provide dedicated webpages that include information, resources and contact information for students.
   7. Provide comprehensive off-campus housing resources for students including:
      1. Endorsed third party housing databases;
      2. Housing search, leasing/legal support, and general education;
      3. Safety and other resource information;
      4. Short-term housing information;
      5. Emergency housing; and
      6. Financing opportunities and assistance.

2. Applicants will receive information to assist in finding housing, with details included in their offer letter.
3. Students living in residence must adhere to Cambrian’s Residence Community Living Standards.

Vice President, Human Resources, Student Services and International is responsible for:

• Overseeing the implementation and compliance of this policy.
• Ensuring the development, review and availability of this policy.
• Ensuring student information, resources, and supports are in place for student housing.

Vice President, Finance and Administration and Applied Research is responsible for:

• Overseeing student housing in residence.

Manager, Public Safety and Residence Operations is responsible for:

• Reporting on student housing in residence as per ministry requirements.

Campus Living is responsible for:

• Adhering to the requirements of this policy.
