Your home away from home! Cambrian’s Residence has amenities, options, and services to make your stay as welcoming and comfortable as possible. From laundry and lounging to kitchens and cleaning, visit our facilities on residence to see just how many amenities you’ll have access to when you live on campus at Cambrian. Choose from two styles of residences, dorm-style or townhouse to begin your residence journey.
Dorm style residence
A suite shared between two residents, with individual bedrooms and shared common spaces.
Each bedroom:
- Standard double bed
- Large desk with chair
- High-speed Internet access
- Individual heat and air conditioning
- Closet
Each kitchenette:
- Microwave
- Full-size refrigerator
- Kitchen table and chairs
- Preparation area complete with sink and storage
Each Bathroom:
- Shower and bathtub
- Toilet
- Sink
Townhouse style residence
A two-story townhouse is shared between six residents, with individual bedrooms and shared common spaces.
Each Bedroom:
- Twin bed
- Built-in wardrobe
- Closet
- Desk and chair
- High-speed Internet access
Each kitchen/living room:
- Full-size refrigerator
- Full-size stove
- Microwave
- Preparation area with sink and storage
- Kitchen table and chairs
- Living room furnishings
Each bathroom:
- The main floor bathroom is equipped with a shower, sink, and toilet
- One of the second-floor bathrooms is equipped with a shower, bathtub, and sink
- One of the second-floor bathrooms is equipped with a toilet and sink
Lounges and common kitchens
Located on each floor of the residence dorms, there are common areas for residents to gather. They are equipped with lounge furniture and full-size stoves that allow residents to cook and lounge at their leisure.
Lounges are open 24 hours a day and are outfitted with tables and chairs that are perfect for group or individual study. There are two designated study lounges within the building that are perfect for more intense studying. Laundry rooms can be found in the residence dorms and the Laamanen Centre. All washers and dryers operate using a swipe card. Cards can be purchased from a machine located inside the laundry room.
The front desk
Located on the main floor of the residence dorms, the front desk is staffed 24 hours a day and provides residents with one-on-one service to ensure all needs and requests are met. The front desk has an on-call system with staff trained in first response to assist with any resident issue and to contact security on patrol.
We are available for questions, comments, and/or concerns at any time. Please stop by and get to know our Residence Service Representatives during your first few weeks here at the residence.
The Laamanen Centre
The Laamanen Centre is located between the townhouses and the dorms and houses the Residence Life Office, the laundry room and Rafters. Rafters is a staffed social lounge that is a great place to hang out, meet people, study, and attend events. Check out the programming boards in the lobby for more information.
Maintenance
Need something fixed? We can help! If you require any type of maintenance in your room, please fill out a maintenance request form online through your Residence Portal. This form authorizes our maintenance staff to enter your room during regular working hours to repair the damages or fix any issues that you have outlined on your form.
This request may take a few days to respond to, so we ask you to be patient. If it is an emergency, we ask that you alert our staff to the situation immediately. Please note that if you are at fault, you will be billed for any and/or all damage to the suite or townhouse you are living in.
Housekeeping services help maintain the common areas of the residence and are not available in the individual suites or townhouses.
