    VEX Robotics Competition – January

    an incredible opportunity for more than 150 elementary and high school students from across Ontario to showcase their skills and compete in a variety of robot challenges. By participating in this competition, students not only gain practical experience but also engage with all facets of STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics).

    Annual Career Fair Conference – February

    Enhance your visibility at Northern Ontario’s largest Career Fair, attracts Cambrian students and graduates in Greater Sudbury and beyond. Showcase your organization among your future employees and peers, covering a wide variety of sectors.

    Cambrian Student Innovation Challenge – April

    Cambrian College is proud to host an annual entrepreneurship challenge, where students showcase their innovative ideas for new products or businesses. Participants enrolled in the program engage in a brief extra-curricular curriculum aimed at developing essential competencies prior to their pitch. These sessions center on fundamental business principles and honing presentation skills. Participants represent various Cambrian programs, with the top-performing students awarded a cash prize to support the realization of their innovative concepts. With your collaboration, we can continue to support the future leaders and innovators of our world.

    Skills Ontario Competition - May

    Skills Ontario is dedicated to developing Ontario’s skilled trades and technologies workforce while ensuring inclusivity for all youth. Focusing on key growth sectors such as construction, technology innovation, and hospitality services, Skills Ontario hosts the annual Skills Ontario Competition, the largest event of its kind in Canada, each May. This competition serves as a platform for exceptional students to showcase their talents. Each year, Cambrian College students join peers from the Rainbow District School Board and the Sudbury Catholic District School Board to form ‘Team Sudbury’. With a strong track record, Cambrian College has earned approximately 60 medals at Skills Ontario and Skills Canada competitions since 2005.

    Women in Technology - May

    Nearly 100 students in grades 9-12 enthusiastically participate in Cambrian College’s Women in Technology event, underscoring the increasing interest in fostering diversity within the tech sector. The event features three engaging activities: an introduction to the Internet of Things (IoT) where students explored IoT programming using Arduinos, sensors, and actuators; a session on computer communication covering concepts like IP addresses, MAC addresses, port numbers, and encapsulation through activities like Packet Post Office and Code Quest; and a firsthand look into video game development, where students learned about the creative process, skills, tools, and ideas behind their favorite gaming titles in the Press Start to Begin session.

    Case Study Competition – May

This annual competition offers secondary school students from nine Greater Sudbury high schools a unique opportunity to develop their teamwork, critical-thinking, and communication skills while tackling real-world business challenges. As a sponsor, you’ll play a vital role in fostering an enriching experience where students collaborate, problem-solve, and receive invaluable guidance from Cambrian professors. Your support will empower students to network with peers from diverse backgrounds and celebrate their achievements at an exciting award ceremony.     Pride Run – July

    Aligning with Greater Sudbury’s Pride Week, this vibrant and inclusive run will not only promote health and wellness but also serve as a powerful platform to champion diversity, equality, and inclusion within our community. As we strive to make this event a resounding success, we’re inviting partners to join us in supporting this important cause and making a lasting impact on the 2SLGBTQAI+ community. Join us in celebrating love, acceptance, and equality as we lace up our running shoes and hit the streets for a memorable and meaningful event.

    Jill of All Trades - October

    Jill of All Trades encourages young women from Grades 9-12 to explore career opportunities in the skilled trades. This day-long event is meticulously crafted to provide hands-on experiences and activities, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation for various skilled trades. Through workshops held in Cambrian College labs, participants engage in practical learning experiences, supplemented by keynote addresses from an esteemed guest speaker in the field. Attendees also have the opportunity to tour College labs, enjoy lunch and snacks, and receive a backpack filled with exciting swag, all geared towards inspiring them to consider the fulfilling pathways available in skilled trades.

    Ontario Colleges Marketing Competition (OCMC) – November

    The Ontario Colleges’ Marketing Competition (OCMC) offers a student-centered learning platform where participants showcase their essential skills, vocational abilities, and employability traits to industry professionals. Serving as a bridge between academia and industry, OCMC provides real-world experiences and networking opportunities for students. For over 30 years, this prestigious competition has united hundreds of motivated business students and faculty to exhibit their talents, emphasizing teamwork and strategic thinking. Hosted annually by various Ontario colleges, OCMC remains driven by student engagement with organizational support from dedicated faculty volunteers.
