Graduate with the skills to go from classroom to career!

Due to Cambrian’s fortunate location in Sudbury, one of the mining capitals of the world, we offer specialized training in our School of Skilled Trades that is not available on other campuses. Our heavy equipment and industrial mechanical millwright programs focus on installing and repairing complex machinery typically found in the mining, refining, forestry, and manufacturing sectors. You’ll learn the fundamentals of diesel engines and electrical, hydraulic, and brake systems for heavy equipment in our truck and coach motive power program. Or dive under the hood in our state-of-the-art automotive shop with a motive power focus on gas-powered and hybrid vehicles.

You’ll gain the hands-on experience you need to enter the construction and renovation sector in our carpentry shop. Or take welding projects from concept to finished product in our welding lab. Our HVAC program is one of only two colleges in Ontario to offer oil burner technician training. Our powerline program is the longest-running in the province, with an on-campus outdoor training field. Do you enjoy hands-on work but don’t know which trade to pursue? Explore the electrical, mechanical, and carpentry fields with our comprehensive one-year program that offers practical training in labs and trade shops.

Many of our programs feature an optional, paid co-op where you’ll apply your skills in an actual work environment. Our professors are passionate about their trades and eager to promote new talent. Work preparation sessions help you develop an industry-specific resume and effective interviewing skills, with plenty of networking opportunities.
