Be an eco-warrior armed with solid skills to protect Mother Earth!

Picture a future where the best energy solution is a sustainable one. Where the power we use to fuel our planet is renewable and nature conservation is balanced with economic activities. Where water is plentiful and pure and the air we breathe is clean. This vision is not a distant dream — it’s the essence of Cambrian’s School of Environmental Studies.

Housed in Cambrian’s Glencore Centre for Innovation and Enterprise, a green building that is LEED gold-certified, our Environmental Monitoring and Impact Assessment program trains you to monitor the earth’s vital signs by observing the air, water, soil, and ecology of our planet.

You’ll study everything from the watershed scale of forest streams to measuring the amounts of chemicals in the air and taking a holistic approach to landscape management. With a focus on ecosystems impacted by the mining industry, you’ll work outdoors and learn firsthand from industry professionals.

Our Environmental Technician program trains you to use state-of-the-art equipment to evaluate and monitor contaminated ecosystems. You’ll gain the technical skills and practical field experience to assess environmental variables within the air, water, soil and living organisms. You’ll sharpen your technical writing skills while evaluating field data and improve your knowledge of environmental regulations and policies.

Explore climate change, land restoration, and water conservation while preparing for a career in any industry that needs to comply with environmental regulations. Our graduates work at top environmental and engineering consulting firms and government ministries, as well as in smaller firms and non-governmental organizations.
