Traditional lectures, formal presentations, interactive discussions, individual work, and practical case studies model the real business world. An in-depth concentration on accounting is balanced with a broad education in related areas of business, with courses in financial accounting, managerial skills, finance, cost accounting systems, auditing, computerized accounting, and personal and corporate income taxation. The final semester provides a placement and networking opportunities.

Freelandt Caldwell Reilly – During this previous placement as a student Accountant they used their strong technical, interpersonal and communication skills. They had the ability to work independently, in a face paced team environment. Students on placement gained experience including, but not limited to, the following duties:
- Completed Notice to Reader Engagements in-house consisting of preparation of working paper files, financial statements, and corporate return preparation
- Utilized a variety of Software including CaseWare, Tax Prep, Simply Accounting, Excel, etc.
- Prepared client T4’s and T4 summaries
- Completed of various bookkeeping requirements for clients.
KPMG Enterprise – As a Staff Accountant at KPMG, the students gained valuable experience working with a team of talented professionals. They engaged in interesting and challenging assignments with the full support of the firm. They had the opportunity to apply their knowledge during this placement opportunity.
City of Greater Sudbury – As an Accounting Analyst A/R the students worked mostly in accounts receivable under the direction of the AR Supervisor. The AR Supervisor offered a variety of AR related tasks including, billing, customer payment processing, and customer account maintenance. This placement also dealt a lot with preparing journal entries and dealing directly with other departments. In addition, the student was included in monthly meetings in all areas of the team (AR, AP, Payroll, Purchasing, FIS, Accounting) to provide a broad range of experience and the ability to choose a career path.
Fun fact! During Cambrian’s tax clinics, students provide tax preparation services free of charge to Cambrian students.

Specific program pathways
Honours Bachelor of Business Administration – advanced standing opportunity
Graduates from this program (or equivalent) meeting a 2.5 GPA requirement are eligible for advanced standing in the Honours Bachelor of Business Administration program and will receive direct entry into Year 3 and have a potential to receive additional transfer credits.
College/university degree opportunities
Graduates from this program may continue their studies at college/university and may receive credit for their prior College education.

- Storage: 16 GB – 32 GB SSD, 100 GB free with 10 GB minimum for software installs
