Cambrian College launches new Data Analytics graduate certificate program – December 15

SUDBURY – To meet growing industry for skilled workers in data-driven industries, Cambrian College is launching a new program for September of 2026, a Graduate Certificate in Data Analytics.

This one-year, three-semester program offers training in such topics as data collection and ethics, data visualization, data modelling, machine learning, market analytics, and storytelling with data.

Students will gain hands-on experience with industry-standard software and tools, graduating with the specialized expertise employers are actively seeking.

“With organizations across every sector accelerating their use of data, there is a tremendous demand for professionals who not only understand analytics, but who can translate data into meaningful decisions,” says Janice Clarke, Cambrian’s Vice-President Academic. “This new graduate certificate is an important addition to Cambrian’s portfolio, giving learners the technical depth and practical experience needed to compete and succeed in a fast-growing field.”

The new Data Analytics Graduate Certificate offers lots of flexibility for learning. Students can study full-time or part-time, on campus or fully online.

The program is designed for recent graduates and working professionals who want to specialize in analytics or transition into data-focused roles. Admission requirements include a recognized post-secondary diploma or degree in any discipline, or relevant work experience. Strong numeracy and computer proficiency are recommended.

“Data Analytics is no longer a niche skill: it is a core capability that employers value across industries,” adds Program Coordinator Farima Miri. “Our program is designed to give students the confidence, hands-on experience, and analytical mindset to make a meaningful impact from day one.”

Graduates of the program will be prepared for a wide variety of careers such as data or business analyst, business intelligence specialist, research analyst, digital analytics consultant, and project manager.
