SUDBURY – A group of students recently completed a three-week home improvement and maintenance course through Cambrian College’s Espanola site.
During the course in the specially outfitted Trades trailers, students were taught skills such as building walls, installing drywall and tile, and performing basic electrical and plumbing installations.
The students constructed a bathroom and a full practice wall, with window, to be used by the Espanola Fire Department to train firefighters on how to safely enter and exit a window during a fire.
Supplies for the course were donated by the Espanola Home Hardware Building Centre.
Cambrian College is Northern Ontario’s largest college, with more than 100 programs. Cambrian’s main campus is in Greater Sudbury, with satellite centres in Espanola and Little Current. For more information about Cambrian College, click here.
