SUDBURY – It is the largest competition of its kind in the world for students who are pursuing careers in supply chain management, and Cambrian College will be there.
A team of students from Cambrian’s Supply Chain Management program has qualified for the finals of the 2024 Global Student Challenge, to be held online May 6-10.
The Global Student Challenge is hosted by Inchainge, a company based in the Netherlands that specializes in game-based learning solutions used by over 700 universities and many of the most successful companies in the world.
“The Global Student Challenge is the world’s leading supply change management competition,” says Cambrian business professor and team coach Craig O’Neill. “Our team of four business-savvy students will be facing off against more than 20 other teams from colleges and universities from around the world. For us to qualify for the finals is a huge accomplishment.”
Members of Team Cambrian include Hong Anh Tran, Sufiyan Hassan, Gagandeep, and Yash Rungta.
Team Cambrian advanced to the world finals after successfully competing in the second round of the challenge against sixty other post-secondary schools. Cambrian was the only college in its category to advance. Students in Cambrian’s Supply Chain Management program are automatically entered in the Global Student Challenge as part of their year-end applied learning capstone project.
“We’re so excited to be in the finals,” says team member Hong Anh Tran. “We are going up against teams from North and South America, Europe and Asia. It’s so exciting, especially knowing we are the only college to make it through.”
Supply Chain Management is just one of the many programs offered through Cambrian College’s Douglas A. Smith Family School of Business. We offer diploma, graduate certificate and degree programs.
