Cambrian College is participating in several alternate pathways to Nursing that provide flexible online or in-person options to support your growth in the healthcare field.  Explore ways you can open the doors to more possibilities!

RPN to BScN (in-person)

If you are a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN), currently employed and in good standing with the CNO, you could receive advanced standing in the Honours Bachelor of Science in Nursing program. To be eligible, you are required to meet the admission requirements and complete the Practical Nursing to Registered Nursing bridge semester (PNRN). Please use the course code PNRN at OCAS to apply.

Once you have successfully completed the 7 courses in the bridge semester you may apply for admission to semester 5 of the degree program (NURS).

Nursing Program Transformation Initiative (NPTI)

Cambrian College is participating in two programs under the Nursing Program Transformation Initiative (NPTI), that provide flexible, online and in-person options to support your growth in the nursing field.

PSW to RPN

Are you a PSW who is ready to add nursing credentials to your résumé? Take advantage of the Personal Support Worker (PSW) to Practical Nursing (PN) pathway program to build on your healthcare career!

RPN to BScN (online)

The Registered Practical Nursing (RPN) to Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) pathway is a flexible online bridge. This pathway offers a series of courses for RPNs seeking to complete a BScN program at a participating Ontario college. If you are a graduate of a CNO-approved Practical Nursing diploma program you might be eligible to earn credits towards your degree at your own pace! Successful completion of this online bridge allows you to apply to semester 5 of our Honours Bachelor of Science in Nursing program.
