Full-time tuition fees
As defined by the Ministry of Colleges and Universities (MCU), a full-time student is:
“An individual who is enrolled in a college program of instruction for at least 70% of the student contact hours or 66⅔% of the courses required for the program of instruction in a given semester or reporting period. A student granted advanced standing or an exemption from a course is not considered to be enrolled in the course.”
Also per MCU, tuition fees are:
“Fees charged to students representing their contribution towards the operating and capital costs of academic program delivery and general overhead for the institution.”
At the time of registration, fees are assessed individually for those full-time students registered in more credits than the maximum for their program/semester (i.e., a student in “overload”). The rate charged for the overload credits will be the same as the part-time tuition rate (noted below).

Full-time institutional level ancillary fees
As defined by MCU, ancillary fees are:
“Fees charged to support services and activities distinct from academic programming or general overhead for the institution.”
Compulsory fees
The following fees are charged to all full-time students on a compulsory basis for students studying at the Barry Downe campus. These are charged per term and some may be prorated for semesters less than 14 weeks. See the individual program and semester fees for exceptions.

Compulsory fees notes
* The fee shown is for a 12-month coverage (September to August) levied in the fall term. If you start your academic year in the winter or summer terms, you may have your health insurance fees prorated.
You will have additional insurance fees added for programs in which the academic year extends past August 31.

Part-time tuition fees

“An individual who is enrolled in one or more courses comprising less than 70% of the student contact hours or 66⅔% of the courses required for a full-time program of instruction in a given semester or reporting period.”

At the time of registration, fees are assessed individually for part-time students based on the number of credits in which they are registered to a maximum of the tuition that a full-time student would pay in the same program and semester.
If you are a part-time student, you will pay tuition fees, applicable program ancillary fees, (see previous section – full-time and part-time program level ancillary fees) plus the following compulsory ancillary fees: Academic Support, Career Services, Health and Counselling, and Student Achievement and Records (see next section – Part-time institutional level ancillary fees).

| CSC – Health Programming | The fee provides all students with access to various health programming opportunities provided by the Cambrian Student Council (CSC). These may include animal therapy events, healthy eating education, and various awareness campaigns. | $1.54 |
| CISC – Health Programming | This fee supports health awareness campaigns, services and events that help the reconciliation process provided through the Cambrian Indigenous Student Circle. Events like Pow-Wow, orange shirt day, the rawhide campaign, cultural teachings, spiritual ceremonies, just to name five, go a long way in creating a safe environment for our Indigenous students which helps the students discover about who they are and how they fit into our Cambrian family. Fitting in and learning about their own identity is crucial to their well-being. | $3.08 |
| CSC - Student Rights Advocacy | This fee enables the submission of position papers regarding topics like OSAP funding, and staff integration for both Indigenous and International students. It also provides students, with advocacy supports at both a provincial and federal level, such as membership into the College Student Alliance, an organization that lobbies politically on students’ behalf at the provincial level. It also provides the opportunity for our student leaders to represent Cambrian at conferences related to these matters. | $0.70 |

2023-24 Payment schedule notes
* The term deposit and late fee are non-refundable.
Note: All outstanding fees plus the term deposit must be paid in full before you can register for a subsequent term. In other words, your account balance must be zero and you must have paid a minimum of $250 to register for your next semester.
Things to keep in mind
- Fees and fee deadlines are subject to change. Please review your fees in your myCambrian student account.
- Deposit payments must occur by the stated deadline to reserve a seat in a program. You may lose your place in your program if term fees are not paid in full by the deadlines noted above.
- If you are unable to pay your full-term tuition fees by the deadline noted, a $150 non-refundable late fee per term will be added to your balance owing.
- If you are being sponsored by a First Nation, government agency, employer, or other organization, you must provide a sponsorship letter verifying the sponsorship and return it to the College’s Registrar’s Office (Enrolment Centre) by the term deposit due date. If you are unable to provide the letter in time, it is still your responsibility to pay the $250 fee to reserve your seat.
