Application process checklist
Ensure you have everything you need before you apply!
Below you will find two (2) application checklists; one for applying with an agent/consultant and one for applying without an agent/consultant. Please ensure you follow the correct checklist.
Application process with a consultant/agent
Step 1 – Prepare your documents
You will need to provide proof of eligibility, including:
- Official notarized transcripts from your previous high school, college, and/or university
- Proof of English proficiency
- Portfolio (typically for Creative Art and Design programs)
- A copy of your up-to-date passport
Step 2 – Apply online
Get in touch with your consultant/agent and provide all your education documents and which program(s) you wish to apply to. Please make sure you are diligent about selecting the program(s), as you may not be able to change your choice(s) once you have applied.
All of our authorized agents have their logins for a Cambrian College online application portal where they will apply on your behalf. Ensure your personal email is used for the application. All communications about your application will be sent through the application portal, to the email(s) listed on file.
Step 3 – Application decision
Your application will undergo a review by the admissions team. All communication about your application is sent through the application portal.
Step 4 – Receive an offer/letter of acceptance (LOA)
Your consultant/agent will receive your offer through their Cambrian College online application portal. Please make sure your consultant/agent provides you with a copy of your offer/LOA. Please make sure you check all the information that is contained within the offer.
Step 5 – Accept your offer/LOA and pay your fees
Please make sure you ask your consultant/agent to:
- Accept the offer/LOA on their Cambrian College online application portal
- Provide you with details on how to pay your fees (this information can be found on the second page of your offer letter)
- Pay the fee as indicated in the offer letter, before the fee payment deadline
- We will then upload the fee receipt on your consultant/agent’s online portal. Please make sure your consultant/agent provides you with a copy of the fee payment receipt
Step 6 – Apply for an Ontario Provincial Attestation Letter (PAL)
You need a provincial attestation letter to apply for a study permit. Click here for updated information.
Step 7 – Apply for a Canadian study permit and visa
You can apply for your study permit/visa once you have:
- Paid your fees
- Received the final offer/LOA
- Been given your fee receipt
- Received your provincial attestation letter
You can also apply for your work permit if your program includes a mandatory co-op or placement.
Application process without a consultant/agent
Step 1. Prepare your documents
You will need to provide proof of eligibility, including:
- Official notarized transcripts from your previous high school, college, and/or university
- Proof of English proficiency
- Portfolio (typically for Creative Art and Design programs)
- A copy of your up-to-date passport
Step 2 – Apply online
You are required to apply online using the international application service through OCAS. You can choose up to three programs. Please visit the OCAS international website.
To review your application, please log in to your OCAS online account (where you applied) to review the status of your application.
Step 3 – Application decision
Your application will undergo a review by the admissions team. All communication about your application is sent through the application portal.
Step 4 – Receive an offer/letter of acceptance (LOA)
You will receive an offer/LOA on your Cambrian College online application portal.
Step 5 – Accept your offer/LOA and pay your fees
You will need to log in to your OCAS online account to complete the following:
- Accept your offer/LOA
- Download your offer/LOA
- Follow the fee structure and pay to secure your seat
- Save your fee receipt
- Please refer to the second page of your offer/LOA for details about how to pay the fees
