Pension plan

Health benefits and insurance

Cambrian provides employees with comprehensive group benefit coverage through Sun Life Financial that includes:

  • Critical illness insurance

  • Extended health coverage, including vision care, physiotherapy, massage therapy, naturopathic services, travel coverage, and much more!

Vacation and time off

Cambrian provides generous annual vacation entitlement to support a healthy work-life balance:

  • Full-time administrative employees start at 22 days of vacation
  • Full-time support Staff employees start at 15 days of vacation
  • Full-time faculty employees receive two months of vacation

In addition to the above vacation entitlement, full-time Cambrian employees receive full pay during the holiday closure period between Christmas and New Year’s Day.

Cambrian also provides financial security when full-time employees are ill or injured through Cambrian’s short-term disability income replacement plans.

Education and career development

Tuition assistance
Full-time Cambrian employees may receive reimbursement of tuition fees for successfully completed transcript courses that are a part of a Cambrian-approved certificate, diploma or degree.

Tuition subsidy
Through the Office of the Registrar (Enrolment Centre), Cambrian provides full-time employees reduced tuition of $20 per course for all Ministry-funded courses offered through Cambrian’s Continuing Education department.

Professional development leave
Full-time employees with at least six years of service can apply for a compensated Professional Development Leave for up to one year.

LinkedIn Learning
All Cambrian employees have access to LinkedIn Learning. This collection of tutorials offers a vast lineup of topics, from business to personal interest, and can be easily accessed from anywhere.

Technology and tuition loan plans
Full-Time employees have access to interest-free loans up to $3,000 to purchase approved technology or for furthering their education. Employees pay back these loans through payroll deductions over a set number of pays.

Wellness

Cambrian is dedicated to supporting wellness initiatives to encourage a healthy workplace.

Initiatives include:

  • Free wellness workshops offered through our Wellness Committee, our Employee Family Assistance Program (EFAP), and our Athletic Center
  • Free membership to the on-site Athletic Center
  • An active Wellness Committee aimed at supporting mental and physical health
  • College-wide initiatives aimed at building community and having fun

Family friendly benefits

Pregnancy and parental leaves
Cambrian provides eligible employees with an employment insurance top-up, up to 93 percent of the employee’s salary for pregnancy, and parental leave for up to 52 weeks. The 52 weeks of top-up payments may be spread out for up to a maximum of 78 weeks for extended leaves.

Employee and Family Assistance Program
Cambrian’s Employee and Family Assistance Program provides employees and their families with free 24-7 confidential support services.

Tuition reimbursement for children
Cambrian offers partial tuition reimbursements for children of full-time Cambrian employees.
