Lockers

At Cambrian, our lockers are your lockers. But there are a few simple rules that need to be followed.

Terms and Conditions

Lockers at Cambrian College are the property of the College and are subject to applicable policies. Cambrian College reserves the right to alter these policies upon appropriate notice.

Any violation of these policies will result in the cancellation of locker privileges.

Lockers are maintained by the College’s Facilities Management department, located in room 1422. Facilities Management can be contacted by email at facilities@cambriancollege.ca or phone at 705-566-8101, ext. 7384.

The College does not assume responsibility for locker contents.

Rules for Registered Students

Registered Cambrian College students can use a full or half-size locker at no charge. NEW: Students must register for lockers on myCambrian.

A student may occupy only one locker at a time. There are some conditions concerning “Reserved” lockers, see the bottom of the page for details.

At the end of the current academic year, or by June 1 at the latest, all lockers must be vacated and their contents removed.

After June 1, locks will be cut off and locker contents will be removed. Students can retrieve the contents of their locker in the Facilities Management office upon payment of a $20 fee. After 90 days, locker contents become the property of the College.

Any student found occupying more than one locker will have his or her lock removed and will be subject to a $20 fine in order to retrieve the contents.

Upon official withdrawal from a program, school completion, or graduation, students must vacate their locker immediately.

Use of a locker by a person other than a registered student is forbidden.

Maps are located on each floor to help students find specific lockers.

Recommendations and Advice

Although optional, students are encouraged to obtain insurance to cover the risk of loss or damage to their property while on College premises, including all items stored in their lockers.

Students are advised not to share their lock combination or key to their locker. Sharing a locker increases the risk of damage and theft, for which the College is not responsible.

We also recommend that students remove valuable personal items such as purses, wallets, laptops, cameras, music players or expensive equipment from the locker at the end of each day. The use of a high-quality lock is also recommended.

Lock Removal

Students may request lock removal by Facilities Management in case of lost keys or a forgotten combination, for a fee of $10. For this service, the student must provide the following:

  • Full name
  • Photo ID
  • Student number
  • Accurate description of locker contents

Locker Transfers

If a student transfers to a new locker, Facilities Management must be informed of the locker number, so that the locker may be cleaned and made ready for use by another student.

From time to time, the College has to perform renovations. Students using lockers in areas under renovation will be notified by posted notice and may use a locker in the nearest available location.

Damage

Damage to lockers should be reported to Facilities Management so that repairs can be made. The student may then choose another locker, or be assigned a new locker if the damaged unit is marked “Reserved.”

Reserved Lockers

Lockers marked “Reserved” are assigned to students in selected programs. Any student found using a “Reserved” locker that has not been assigned to them will have their lock cut off and will be subject to a $20 fine, which must be paid in order to retrieve the contents.

Reserved lockers may be accessed by students in the following programs:

  • Chemical Engineering Technology, Lab and Process Control (CHLP)
  • Dental Assisting (DENA)
  • Dental Hygiene (DHYG)
  • Millwright (IMTQ)
  • Medical Laboratory Technology (MLTY)
  • Mining Engineering Technology (MNTY)
  • Theatre Arts, Technical Production (PATT)
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSCN)
  • Practical Nursing (PNDP)
  • Pre-Service Firefighter Education and Training (PSFP)

These program students can access a locker booking system after the registration process is completed.

And a Few More Minor Details …

  • Reserved Locker registration can be found on myCambrian.
  • Locker locator maps can be found on myCambrian portal and will also be posted in the hallways of the college.
  • Once a locker has been selected on the myCambrian site, a lock can be placed on the locker when starting classes in the fall.
  • Students exiting their program must also exit their program specific locker and find a vacant general use locker.

Upgrading students (UPGR), high school dual credit students and apprentices also have designated lockers but are assigned to them by their Cambrian College contacts.
