SUDBURY – Sometimes, people know what career they want to pursue: sometimes they don’t. Maybe they started a college or university program and or a job that just wasn’t for them.
If that’s the case, Cambrian College wants to help point people in the right direction.
Cambrian is hosting Find Your Fit, Wednesday, August 23, from 5 – 7 p.m. in the Fireside Lounge of the Student Life Centre at the main Sudbury campus.
Find Your Fit is all about helping people discover what they need to do to get back on the right path to their career of choice.
“Sometimes, you’re not sure what you want to do or what is even possible, so that’s why we invite people to sit down with us to discuss the options that are available to them to upgrade their skills and education, so they can find a career that will be fulfilling,” explains Spenser McCall, Student Engagement Officer with Student Success and Recruitment.
At Find Your Fit, you’ll have a chance to:
- Meet one-on-one with a liaison officer, career advisor, and/or educational planner.
- Find out about the support services at Cambrian.
- Learn about upgrading and full-time college programs.
- Apply on the spot and Cambrian will pay the $110 application fee!
- Attend in-person for a chance to win a $250 seat deposit.
“I recently made the decision to go back to school this September and my first step was attending the Find Your Fit event at Cambrian College,” says Ryan Scherbak, who will be starting classes in the Mining Engineering Technology program. “I spoke to Spenser who guided me through the entire application process and put me into contact with other Cambrian staff to ensure my application moved forward and I got the answers to all my questions. I am excited to be starting in September!”
Find Your Fit is open to Canadian citizens and landed immigrants.
