SUDBURY – Cambrian College is laying out the welcome mat for its annual Spring Open House.
Spring Open House will be held Saturday, April 15, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the college’s main campus in Sudbury.
“Cambrian is on a roll and there is a lot of excitement and enthusiasm on campus. We have been able to accomplish many things this academic year,” says Renee Scott, Cambrian’s Director of Student Success and Recruitment.
“Our overall enrolment is the highest it has ever been, and our faculty, staff, and students are winning provincial and national honours and awards.
Plus, we have introduced degree-level programs in nursing and business including the first three-year degree program ever offered by an Ontario college. These are very exciting times for Cambrian, and we are looking forward to showing people what we have to offer.”
Activities at Spring Open House include:
- Campus tours.
- Prizes, including $10,000, a $1,000 scholarship, pizza oven, and custom firepit built by Cambrian students.
- Free food.
- Information booths (programs, student services, and financial aid).
“College education has changed dramatically and the programs we are offering are in demand by students, and the skills they graduate with are in demand by employers seeking to hire new employees,” adds Dr. Paula Gouveia, Cambrian’s Vice-President Academic. “By expanding our program offerings to include degree programs, our students are receiving higher levels of theory combined with practical skills training and experiences, which is the best of both worlds. Success truly starts at Cambrian College.”
