SUDBURY –  With the provincial and federal governments signing a historic agreement to deliver “$10-a-day” daycare across Ontario, Cambrian College is responding, knowing there will be increased demand for leaders in that sector.

Beginning this September, Cambrian College will be offering its new Early Childhood Education Administration graduate certificate program.

The program is available to recent graduates of Early Childhood Education (ECE) diploma and degree programs in Ontario, as well as professionals working in the field with a college or university ECE credential.

“This is an excellent new program and one that really is responding to what will be a high demand for qualified ECE leaders across not just Ontario but all of Canada,” explains Janice Clarke, Dean of the School of Community Services at Cambrian College. “The program elevates current ECE graduates with enhanced qualifications allowing them to be managers and leaders in this rapidly expanding industry.”

More details about Cambrian’s ECE Administration program:

  • The only program of its kind in northeastern Ontario.
  • Offered fully online (6 courses) with a six-week placement that gives students the flexibility to work while they learn.
  • Grant funding is available to assist students with the costs of tuition, books, and travel. Learn more at https://ecegrants.on.ca/leadership-certification.

“This new program is another example of how colleges, like Cambrian, are able to pivot quickly to meet both the changing needs and growing demands within the labour market,” adds Dr. Paula Gouveia, Cambrian’s Vice-President Academic. “Children are our most precious resource, and we want to do our part to make sure leaders in early childhood education have the skills, including leadership skills, to offer the best childcare in the world.”
