Cambrian College Fall Open House Goes Virtual Again This Year

Posted on Monday October 25, 2021

SUDBURY – Cambrian College is opening its doors - kinda - this November for its annual Fall Open House.

It’s one of the biggest events of the year, and Cambrian College is once again hosting a Virtual Fall Open House, live online, Saturday, November 13, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

“Virtual Fall Open House is always a great way to give potential students a chance to get a taste of the Cambrian experience,” says Renee Scott, Cambrian’s Director of Student Success and Recruitment. “Professors and students from every program will be ready to meet with visitors online, giving students the opportunity to hear first-hand about program options, career paths, and the student experience. Also, as we plan to return to campus in January of 2022, students can learn more about what to expect from their Cambrian experience.”

This year’s Virtual Fall Open House includes:

  • virtual tours of campus from the comfort of home; and
  • live sessions with Cambrian faculty, staff, and students who can answer questions about Cambrian’s 90+ programs, student services, campus life and financial assistance and incentives.

Cambrian’s Virtual Fall Open House will also be an opportunity to show how Cambrian is evolving to meet the needs of the labour force.

“At one time, academic terms started in September and January with some courses offered in the summer, and you were either full-time or part-time, but that has changed dramatically at Cambrian in the past few years,” adds Dr. Paula Gouveia, Cambrian’s Vice-President Academic. “We now have six intakes, additional new terms starting in November, March, and July to accommodate when people want to start their education. We’re constantly adding new programs, in particular graduate certificates and micro-credentials, which can be earned in shorter periods of time and are very skills-specific. We’re also evolving how we teach students, with more online learning options. The workforce is changing. People are changing. As a college, we are changing to meet those new demands and opportunities.”

You can register now. There are many prizes to be won, including a $10,000 cash prize, a $2,500 scholarship, an Apple watch, $500 Amazon gift cards, a custom-built firepit from our Welding and Fabrication Technician students and more!
