SUDBURY – Cambrian College is exploring new territory to officially welcome the
summer season next month.
Cambrian’s second annual June Virtual Open House is being led by students.
The Virtual Open House – Student Takeover Edition takes place Saturday, June 19
from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. It will be broadcast via the college’s webpage,
Cambrian students will be leading the academic program booths. They will also
assist the college’s recruitment department in the other Virtual Open House
features, such as the student services booth, live tours and more.
“Who better to talk about the Cambrian College experience than the people that
the experience has been created for, our students, “ says Renee Scott, Cambrian’s
Director of Student Success and Recruitment. “Our students are great ambassadors
and will be taking over major components of our Open House, talking directly to
potential students and other guests about their experiences at Cambrian.”
One of the students taking over the Virtual June Open House is Lauren
Hourtovenko, originally from Sudbury but now living in Waterloo, Ontario. She just
completed her first year in Cambrian’s Media Communications program.
“Cambrian College is not just a post-secondary school, it’s a second home and I
think people are going to see that during our June Open House,” explains
Hourtovenko. “I cannot wait to share my experience with new and prospective
students about what it is like, not only to enroll at Cambrian College, but to join the

open houses and six intakes to meet the demands of today’s students who want
more flexibility when it comes to their college experience.”
