SUDBURY – According to the latest survey results, students and recent graduates are quite satisfied with their time at Cambrian College.
Every year, students and alumni from all of Ontario’s 24 public colleges are surveyed about a number of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Information gathered from the KPI surveys are used to improve the student experience.
The KPI results in eight categories for the 2018-19 academic year have just been released. Cambrian College ranks in the top five in 5 categories, and in the top 10 in seven categories:
2nd – graduate employment rate six months after graduation
4th – overall student satisfaction
4th – overall quality of the learning experience in their program of choice
5th – graduate satisfaction rate six months after graduation
5th – program provided the knowledge and skills useful in future careers
6th – overall quality of the services at the college
7th – overall quality of the facilities/resources
Cambrian met or exceeded the provincial average score in all eight categories.
“I want to congratulate all of our faculty, staff, administrators, alumni, program advisory committee members, and of course, our students for these remarkable results,” says Bill Best, Cambrian’s President. “It’s quite something to be consistently in the top ten. I think these results speak to the fact we really do offer an education and overall student experience that is among the best in Ontario, and it’s great to get the feedback that our students and graduates think very highly of their time with us. There’s always room for improvement, but these results are very encouraging and motivating.”
Jenna Tanti, of Midland, Ontario, is in her third year of the Business Administration program. She says coming to Cambrian has allowed her to gain confidence and maturity.
“Through coming here and having experience in working on campus, working with teachers, and having placements, I have more confidence in the skills I possess and what I bring to the table. I’m going to be a better asset for the community and the industry when I get out there.”
