Wells-McNeil graduated from Cambrian’s Nursing program in 1995. Soon after, she opened her own business, Total Nursing Care, which she has operated in Greater Sudbury for more than 22 years. Through her business, she has hired hundreds of Cambrian College Nursing and Personal Support Worker graduates.
A lifelong learner, Wells-McNeil earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Laurentian University in 2012. As a busy healthcare professional, entrepreneur, and tireless volunteer, she has continued to make meaningful contributions to Cambrian and to the community.
“Kathy is a powerful advocate for Cambrian and for post-secondary education,” said President Bill Best. "She actively supports the role that college graduates play in driving our economy, and she has devoted herself to giving back to her community and to her alma mater. This Award recognizes Kathy’s extraordinary efforts and the exceptional results that have helped our College, our students, and our graduates."
Wells-McNeil is co-chair of Cambrian’s 50th Anniversary Committee, leading the College’s commemoration and fundraising activities taking place this year. She has also contributed to Cambrian as a member of the College’s Board of Governors and as a program advisory committee member. In addition, she has been recognized for her community leadership with awards from a number of organizations, including: the Greater Sudbury Chamber of Commerce; Northern Ontario Business; the Sudbury Business and Professional Women’s Club; and the Cambrian College Alumni Association.
