Professor Stacey Lalande captures images from outdoors and brings them inside Cambrian College’s downtown Open Studio for the Camera Obscura: Downtown Upside Down exhibit

SUDBURY – Beginning Saturday, Feb. 13, through to March 5, visitors to Cambrian College’s downtown Open Studio will be able to see and discover the downtown in a whole new light through Camera Obscura: Downtown Upside Down.

The exhibit features live projections from the downtown streets brought indoors and flipped upside down. The Open Studio itself will act as a giant, darkened, pinhole camera, creating an unforgettable visitor experience.

On Saturday, Feb. 20, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Cambrian professor and Owner/Creative Director of Mirth Photography, Stacey Lalande, will lead a workshop to teach participants how to make their own pinhole cameras, allowing them to experiment with recreating this experience anywhere, on small- or large-scales. Materials will be provided by the Studio.
