Cambrian College and the University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT) are furthering a shared commitment to lifelong learning and seamless education through a formal agreement that will create 12 new pathways for graduates of Cambrian’s two- and three-year diploma programs. These pathways will enable students to complete a university degree related to their academic and practical experience in a shorter period of time.
“We are pleased to partner with UOIT to address the increased demand for cost-efficient educational pathways that enable students to build on their educational foundations and enhance their career opportunities,” said Sonia Del Missier, Cambrian College Vice President, Academic. “At Cambrian, we want to make college to university transfers seamless, so that our graduates’ credentials are easily recognized at top institutions in Canada and around the world. This new agreement will put Cambrian grads on track to complete university degrees at UOIT in as little as two years, offering them additional exposure to research, technology, and expert faculty in their field of study. We’re pleased to announce these new pathways, because they offer more options to our graduates, and more reasons for future students to choose a diploma program at Cambrian.”
“We are thrilled to partner with Cambrian College to offer additional opportunities for college graduates to pursue their degree at UOIT,” said UOIT President Tim McTiernan. “This partnership further supports UOIT’s commitment to providing unparalleled access to education through multiple pathways to degree completion.”
The bridging agreement is in effect for students considering application to UOIT’s programs for September 2013. The agreement was signed in January 2013, and will remain in effect for five years.
