Safety and Environmental Studies

The future is green. At Cambrian College, we'll help you gain the entry-level skills and practical field experience to identify, measure, and record environmental variables within the air, water, soil, and living organisms.

Interested in keeping employees safe? Consider Cambrian’s Workplace Safety and Prevention Technician program. Graduates meet the academic requirements set out by the Board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals (BCRSP) and are qualified to write the Canadian Registered Safety Technician (CRST) examination to earn the CRST designation.

The Leading Edge of Environmental Learning

Our Environmental Technician program will also prepare you to perform appropriate sampling, use state-of-the-art equipment, and assist in the remediation and long-term monitoring of contaminated eco-system components. You’ll also build your knowledge of important and current environmental regulations and policies.

Keeping Workplaces Safe

Our Workplace Safety and Prevention Technician program will give you an understanding of current occupational health and safety legislation and the skills to identify, assess, and manage risk in a variety of workplaces.

Post-Graduate Opportunities

Cambrian also offers a graduate certificate in Environmental Monitoring and Impact Assessment. Course content is shaped by social needs, industry expectations, and regulatory requirements. With this program, you will gain the skills and knowledge to practice environmental monitoring and biodiversity conservation, along with the ability to promote ecosystem sustainability on the watershed, atmospheric, and landscape scales.
