In Afghanistan, they may to dodge rocks and bullets.
Martin Parnell, a former mining executive in Sudbury, author, philanthropist, and avid marathon runner, travelled to Afghanistan in 2016 to help train women who were preparing to run in that country’s national marathon.
They did do in secret, for fear for their safety.
