At Cambrian more than 700 students self- identify as Indigenous.
From May 21 to 24, 2019 Cambrian College will host their Cambrian Horizons event in supporting indigenous youth. More than 80 participants will be on campus to learn about our programs and services that are available to our indigenous students. The event is in collaboration with Wabnode Centre for Indigenous Services, our Sacred Arbour, and the Cambrian Indigenous Students Circle. This experience will give participants the chance to interact with other members of the community as well as complete works shops and become familiar with the Cambrian campus. Blanket craft making, a trip to Dynamic Earth, and tasty food are only a part of the fun.We are very excited to be welcoming all participants and can’t wait to meet all the future Cambrian students.
Who Can Participate
Indigenous students in grades 9 to 12. One or two teacher(s)/parent(s) must accompany the students throughout the entire visit.
Cambrian College will cover the costs for accommodation, food, and workshops.
The school, band office, and/or participating students will be asked to cover transportation costs to and from Sudbury.
