Cambrian College will be hosting “Cambrian Horizons – A College Experience for Indigenous Youth” from Tuesday, June 5- Friday, June 8, 2018. This College experience is for grades 9-12 Indigenous youth and accompanying chaperones and this year we are elated to welcome 80 participants from remote, rural and local communities joining us throughout the week.
This experience provides opportunities for participants to get to know members of other communities and Cambrian while they take part in various workshops to become familiar with college life, as well as visit some of Sudbury’s popular sights and attractions. This four-day experience will immerse students and chaperones in workshops and activities from day to night and they will even be our guests in Residence throughout the week.
This is a truly collaborative approach between many areas of the College including SCWI (Dual Credits), Wabnode Centre for Indigenous Services, Student Success and Recruitment, and Academic areas. We are very excited to be welcoming these participants next week and hope that if you see our groups in the hallway that you will take an opportunity to meet our guests and potential future Cambrian students.
