Residence Move-in Weekend: Cambrian College to welcome 600 students

Posted on Monday August 28, 2017

Approximately 600 students are moving into Cambrian College’s Residence this weekend, setting up their living spaces and preparing for college. For many students, this will be the first time living away from home. Cambrian has planned many activities to give them a warm welcome to the campus and to Sudbury.

This year, the City of Greater Sudbury is offering students living in Residence free tours to highlight all that the city has to offer. “Sudbury is a great city for college students, full of arts and entertainment, culture, scenic lakes and beaches, night life, shopping, and of course, sports and outdoor activities,” said Renée Scott, Student Success and Recruitment Director at Cambrian. “We’re pleased that the City is providing this guided experience for our students over the weekend. It offers students a chance to explore the city together and to get familiar with its amenities.”

In addition to the guided city tours, Cambrian has planned a full schedule of activities to help students make new friends and adjust to college life, including:

  • Campus scavenger hunt
  • Movie Under the Stars in the courtyard (all students welcome)
  • Residence orientation
  • Parent information session
  • Live entertainment and DJ (all students welcome)

Members of the media are invited to follow the action on Friday and Saturday. Move-in Weekend is an excellent opportunity to find out why so many students choose to study at Cambrian College, in Sudbury, Ontario.
