Cambrian College appoints new Dean for Schools of Business and IT; Creative Arts, Design, and Music; and Hospitality

Cambrian College is pleased to announce that Brian Lobban has been appointed Dean of the Schools of Business and Information Technology; Creative Arts, Design and Music; and Hospitality.

Lobban currently serves as professor and coordinator of Cambrian College’s Computer Systems Technology program. He has extensive experience in software and database consulting as well as in the retail and postsecondary sectors. Lobban joined the College as a full-time professor in 2005. He added global work experience to his profile in 2008-10, when he was selected to promote Cambrian’s Information Technology programs and develop partnerships in India.

“Brian’s leadership qualities, combined with his demonstrated dedication to innovation, his focus on teaching excellence, and his administrative experience make him an ideal fit for this dynamic role,” said Jean Brown, Vice President Academic at Cambrian College.

Lobban will complete his MBA (with a major in Innovation Leadership) from the University of Fredericton in June 2017. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Laurentian University and is a 1999 graduate of Cambrian’s Business Information Systems program.

Lobban will assume his new role effective May 29, 2017.
