On April 15, students, faculty and alumni from the School of Creative Arts and Design at Cambrian College partnered with the City of Greater Sudbury to unveil a new mural at Tom Davies Square that will foster community pride and inspire present and future artists.
This latest mural was designed to help celebrate Canada’s 150th anniversary and to enhance Greater Sudbury’s thriving arts culture.
The mural, which took hundreds of hours of create, spans 29 feet and expresses the diversity and beauty that is naturally found in our region.
Other places in the community where the murals and the talents of Cambrian’s students, faculty and alumni are on display include the Pediatrics Unit at Health Sciences North, Science North, Cambrian College, The Sudbury YMCA, and the Greater Sudbury Airport. New this year, the mural group created custom painted Muskoka chairs that reflect the imagery of the mural. The chairs are $200 each and the proceeds from the sale of the chairs will go towards student bursaries at Cambrian College. For more information, contact firstname.lastname@example.org
