Cambrian College is congratulating its 2016 Medical Laboratory Technology, Medical Radiation Technology, and Diagnostic Medical Sonography - Ultrasound students who have obtained 100 percent success rates on their provincial certification exams. These challenging professional exams are a crucial and final step for graduates to become registered to work in their respective fields.
June Raymond, the Chair of Cambrian’s School of Health Sciences, recognized the graduates for their perseverance and dedication. “Our graduates’ success on these exams is commendable, and it’s made possible thanks to committed Cambrian professors, technicians, and staff, who guide students through accredited programs that meet or exceed the requirements of these dynamic professions,” Raymond explained.
According to Cambrian’s latest Graduate Employment Report, the majority of graduates from these programs find employment related to their field of study within six months of completing their programs. In addition, some graduates choose to continue their education at the college or university level instead of joining the workforce immediately after graduation.
According to recent Northern Ontario employment projections, job opportunities in professional occupations in the field of health diagnosis and treatment are expected to grow by 11 percent between 2016 and 2021.
Medical Laboratory Technology professor Brad Hann said that opportunities are growing in the sector, and that many of his students had promises of employment pending completion of their professional exams.
