SUDBURYCambrian College students who need coveralls for classes, placements, co-ops or field trips will now have an assortment to choose from, thanks to a generous donation of 185 garments from Cementation Canada.

On Thursday, May 19, Eric Kohtakangas, Cementation Canada’s Vice President Operations, and past Chair of the Board of Governors at Cambrian College, presented the donation to Cambrian President Bill Best and Louise Turcotte, the College’s Dean of the Schools of Skills Training and Engineering Technology and Environmental Studies.

“Many of our students require coveralls, but not all of them have the financial means to purchase them,” Turcotte explained. “This generous donation from Cementation Canada will enable Cambrian to keep an inventory on hand for students who need coveralls on a regular or short-term basis. This will remove a financial barrier for students with limited resources so that they may better focus on their education.”

“Coveralls are an important piece of safety apparel and offer physical protection from a variety of potential hazards, so we’re pleased that Cambrian students will benefit from this donation,” Kohtakangas explained. “Many of our employees are Cambrian graduates. It’s a pleasure to give back to the College and to help future grads with their training and education.”

The contribution of coveralls was treated as an in-kind donation facilitated by the Cambrian College Foundation, which is a charitable organization that supports the College and its students.
