The Stephen McCulloch Memorial Award is dedicated to the memory of Stephen McCulloch − a dear friend of the College, a family man, colleague and community leader.
As President of Cambrian Ford Sales Inc. in Sudbury and a former member of the Cambrian College Board of Governors, Stephen showed the same dedication to the community that he did to his work. He served on the boards of a number of community groups, including the Chamber of Commerce, the Adanac Ski Club and the Sudbury Theatre Centre, where he chaired the STC’s 2005 capital campaign, which has ensured that professional theatre in Sudbury continues to be a cornerstone of our community’s culturescape.
As Chair of Cambrian College’s Audit Committee and a member of the Board of Governors, Stephen’s keen business sense and commitment to education benefitted the College in countless ways. Echoes of his vision and generosity are still being felt by the College today.
In the business world, Stephen was well-known and influential, having served numerous years on Ford of Canada’s National Round Table, including his role as National Dealer Co-chair in 2008 alongside the President of Ford of Canada. He was respected by his colleagues and admired by his employees.
Most importantly, Stephen was loved by his friends and family, including his wife Marett and his two children, Montana and Garett. Please join the Cambrian Ford family in honouring Stephen’s memory and helping to make a difference in the lives of Cambrian College students. Cambrian Ford has invested $15,000 to establish an endowment, from which the interest will provide an annual award for a Cambrian College student in the Automotive program. We know that the cost of postsecondary studies rises year over year, which makes financing an education one of the greatest challenges facing students today. Your investment in the Stephen McCulloch Memorial Award will be most appreciated and will help make the academic and professional dreams come to fruition for deserving Cambrian College students.
